Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Prepare at bedtime.
  2. Pour oats into cereal bowl (or similar sized bowl)
  3. Add soy milk or milk just to the top of the oats (amount is important)
  4. Cover bowl with a clean cloth or tea towel. Do not refrigerate.
  5. In a separate bowl, place the dried fruit.
  6. Heat water, and pour it over the fruit. Fruit should be completely covered by water, with a bit of extra water.
  7. Cover bowl with a clean cloth or tea towel. Do not refrigerate.
  8. In the morning, combine the two bowls, mix well, and taste.
  9. If you want it sweeter add some maple syrup.
  10. Eat it as you would oatmeal. (I like mine topped with a dollop of yogurt or keifer.)
  11. Notes: Do not discard the water remaining on the fruit-it will be very sweet. The oats will be soft and very creamy.
