Greek Diner Rice Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 1 quart whole milk
  • 1 quart water
  • 1 cup or 8 oz of raw rice
  • 3/4 cup or 6 oz. of sugar
  • dash salt
  • 1 large beaten egg
  • whipped cream

Directions:

  1. Bring everything except vanilla and egg to a boil.
  2. Lower heat to a gentle simmer
  3. Cook and stir over an hour.
  4. Take off heat, cool to warm and stir in beaten egg and vanilla.
  5. Chill well.
  6. Serve in dessert glasses
  7. Serve with whipped cream
