Ingredients:

  • cook time is for the whole machine process
  • 3/4 cup hot water
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tblspn butter
  • 2/3 cup mashed potatoes - do not add salt when boiling & do not add butter or milk when mashing
  • 3 1/4 cups bread flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tblspn sugar

Directions:

  1. Place water, milk & butter in a microwave safe bowl
  2. Heat to melt the butter
  3. Stir in the mashed potatoes - You may find with some types of potatoes that when mixed into the liquids they become kind of a grainy texture. This does not affect the results of the bread
  4. Pour into bread maker pan & leave to cool down to warm
  5. In a separate bowl mix together the flour, salt & sugar
  6. Add to liquids in pan, pushing into the corners & leaving a slight well in the center
  7. Add yeast to the well
  8. Process according to your machines instructions for a 1 1/2 lb loaf
  9. NOTE:-
  10. Play close attention to the consistancy of the dough during the machines mixing period, & follow your machines guidelines. I found this is really important. Before I never bothered.
  11. For convenience, cook extra potatoes & divide into 2/3 cup portions & freeze in ziplock snack bags. Thaw 1 to room temp. before making a loaf. Also mix several ziplock bags of the dry ingredients(except the yeast). Then when it comes time to use your machine the measuring is all done & in just a couple of minutes you have the machine started
