Granny’s Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

  • 6 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 250 g flour
  • 300 g sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 g butter
  • 250 ml water
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 cups milk

Directions:

  1. For the cake:.
  2. Mix cocoa, flour, sugar, soda, baking powder and salt in a bowl. (I always recommend to sieve the dry ingredients.).
  3. Melt the butter and add it to the dough with the water and the eggs.
  4. Mix the batter until light and creamy.
  5. Pour into a pre-greased and floured baking tray.
  6. Baking: Pre-heated oven at 175º C for about 40 minutes on the second lowest shelf.
  7. For the glaze:.
  8. Melt white chocolate in warm milk (on the stove).
  9. Add cocoa powder, sugar and butter.
  10. Pour over the cake ONLY when the cake is COLD.
  11. Sprinkle nuts.
