Grandma's Dumplings

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 garlic clove

Directions:

  1. Start a large pot of boiling water.
  2. Beat eat whites.
  3. Mix in cottage cheese.
  4. Add flour until the mixture turns to a doughy consistency.
  5. Dice onion.
  6. Put butter in frying pan and brown the onions and add garlic minced.
  7. Use a large cutting board for this process.
  8. Dust the cutting board with flour (will have to multiple times through the process).
  9. Cover your hands in flour.
  10. Grab hand fulls of dough.
  11. Roll the dough until it is about 1in thick.
  12. Cut about 1/4in pieces of dough.
  13. Roll them slightly and place them on a large dish.
  14. Drop the pieces in boiling water for about 12 minutes. (this will be done in two batches).
  15. Strain and rinse dumplings with cold water.
  16. Mix in the onion/butter mix.
  17. Bacon is also good added to the dumplings!
