Ingredients:

  • 2 cups quaker oats
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour , sifted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp hot water
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Sift flour and salt.
  2. Cream butter and add sugars.
  3. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. Dissolve baking soda in water.
  5. Add to creamed mixture.
  6. Add oatmeal, flour, nuts, chocolate chips and vanilla.
  7. Chill at least one hour.
  8. Drop from teaspoon onto slightly greased cookie sheet.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 - 15 minutes.
