Gingerbread Pudding Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cup. flour
  • 1/2 cup. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup. softened butter
  • 1 1/2 cup. molasses
  • 1/3 cup. melted butter
  • 1 cup. water
  • 3/4 cup. brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup. hot water

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, all spice, salt
  2. And nutmeg and set aside. In a large bowl beat butter and sugar on medium until
  3. Creamy; add egg and continue beating until well mixed. Continue alternating flour
  4. Mixture with molasses and water. Pour into a 13x9-in. pan and sprinkle with brown
  5. Sugar. In medium bowl combine 1 1/2 c. water and melted butter and pour on top of
  6. Batter, bake for 40-55 minutes until top cracks. Serve hot with cool whip.
