German Style Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Place potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with water
  2. Bring to boil
  3. Reduce heat cover and cook for 10 minutes
  4. Add apples cook 10 more minutes

  6. Meanwhile:
  7. Cook diced bacon over med. heat until crisp
  8. Remove bacon and put on paper towel to drain
  9. Reserve 1 tbsp of drippings
  10. In the bacon drippings saute oniions untii lightly browned
  11. Drain potatoes and apples
  12. Add sugar vinegar and salt
  13. Mash slightly
  14. ______________-
  15. Transfer to a warmed serving bowl
  16. Top with onions and bacon
