Fried Green Tomatoes

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup corn meal
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 egg

Directions:

  1. Make a batter of flour, meal, salt, sugar, pepper and egg. If batter is too thick, add a small amount of milk. Slice tomatoes and dip in batter. In heavy skillet, heat 1/2 inch of oil. Brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
