Fried Green Tomatoes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour or 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • bacon drippings or salad oil

Directions:

  1. Cut tomatoes into 1/4 slices.
  2. Combine flour, salt and pepper; dredge tomato slices with this mixture.
  3. Place in heavy skillet containing hot bacon drippings.
  4. Fry slowly until brown, turning once.
