French Honey Wheat Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/8 cups water
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3 cups 50/50 flour
  • 2 tsp yeast

Directions:

  1. For Bread machine add all ingredients in order (warm the water) and use Basic or French cycle.
  2. Fore conventional method dissolve yeast in some of the water.
  3. Combine flour, sugar, and salt in large bowl.
  4. Add remaining water, olive oil,honey and yeast and knead together wel to form a ball.
  5. Place in a bowl cover with a towel and put in a nice WARM place to rise for 1 1/ hours.
  6. Knead again for a good 10 minutes form dough into a loaf and place in greased loaf pan. Cover with towel and let rise in warm place for 1 hour.
  7. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45-55 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Turn out of pan and let cool for at least 15 -20 minutes and serve warm. Great with soup.
