Dried Pineapple Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dried pineapple bits
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Pour boiling water over dried pineapple bits in a bowl. Let cool.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch. Gradually stir in cooled water with pineapple, stirring well to dissolve.
  3. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Add butter and salt, cover and cook over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve hot over bread pudding or plain cake.
