Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • jam
  • 1 slice slightly stale bread

Directions:

  1. Mix first 3 ingredients in a bowl, then soak slightly stale bread slice in egg mixture.
  2. Heat oil and butter in frying bread about 2 minutes on each side until golden. remove to plate.
  3. Sprinkle with sugar.
  4. Spread with strawberry jam.
  5. Sprinkle with icing sugar.
  6. Can be eaten with a spoon.
  7. These are so rich, most will only eat one.
