Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup crisco shortening (she used lard)
  • 1 pinch salt

Directions:

  1. Beat together in order given. Except egg whites and salt.
  2. Be careful with the milk.
  3. She added it to make it wet.
  4. Beat egg whites and salt together, fold in to above mixture.
  5. Bake 45 minutes at 350.
