Ingredients:

  • 5 1/3 tbsp margarine
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup soymilk
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp clove
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats

Directions:

  1. Cream together the margarine and brown sugar.
  2. Add the milk, dates, and walnuts and combine thoroughly.
  3. In a sepatate bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves and allspice.
  4. Add the rolled oats to the dry ingredients and mix together.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the date mixture, mixing to combine thouroughly.
  6. Spread in an 8-inch square pan.
  7. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
