Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Heat oikl in dutch oven over medium heat. Add onions and cook,stirring occasionally,until softened,3 to 5 mins. Add garlic,ginger,jalapeno,curry powder,cinnamon,cumin and bay leaves and cook,stirring often,for about 5 mins more.
  2. Stir in lentils and broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer,partially covered,until lentils are tender,about 45 mins.
  3. Discard bay leaves. Stir in cilantro and lemon juice. Season with pepper.
  4. Ladle the soup into bowls, and garnish with yogurt and chutney.
