Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Directions:

  1. Sift salt, flour and baking soda together; set aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy; add egg and beat.
  3. Fold in flour mixture.
  4. Knead well, adding more flour if necessary to make a stiff dough.
  5. Shape into rolls and place in refrigerator to chill thoroughly.
  6. Slice thin and bake in a preheated 400F oven for about 8 minutes or until golden.
  7. Place cookies on a wire rack until cool.
