Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/8 tsp white pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups milk

Directions:

  1. Sauté onion slices in butter in a large heavy skillet until tender. Add flour, salt, mustard, and pepper, stirring until a smooth paste is formed. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until thickened.
