Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 10 drops red food coloring
  • 10 drops green food coloring

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a small bowl combine flour baking powder and cardamon.
  3. In a large bowl beat butter until softened, add sugar beat until fluffy.
  4. Add egg and vanilla to butter mixture, mix well.
  5. Gradually add flour mixture into butter mixture, beating till well mixed.
  6. Divide dough into thirds.
  7. Stir red food color into 1 third, green into another third, leave remaining third plain.
  8. Cover each and refrigerate 1 hour.
  9. Take a pinch of each color dough to make 1 1/2 inch ball.
  10. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  11. Flatten to 1/4 inch thick with a glass dipped in sugar.
  12. Bake 8 minutes at 350, until egde is just starting to become golden color.
  13. Remove and cool on rack.
