Directions:

  1. Place chocolate in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and cook, stirring frequently, until chocolate melts. Cool.
  2. Combine eggs, sugar, oil, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl; beat until smooth. Add melted chocolate, mixing well.
  3. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to chocolate mixture, beating well. Stir in almonds. Pour into two greased 8- inch square baking pans. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Cool 5 minutes in pan, and cut into 4- x 1/2-inch bars.
  4. Place bars on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 275° for 10 minutes; turn bars, and bake 10 minutes or until dry and crusty.
