Chocolate Cookies - Fannie Farmer

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups flour

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening, gradually adding the sugar, creaming well.
  2. Beat in the egg, chocolate, milk, vanilla and salt.
  3. Gently, but thoroughly, stir in the flour.
  4. Put through a cookie press or drop by level teaspoon fulls, 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes.
