Ingredients:

  • 1 cup oleo
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup oleo
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 6 tbsp buttermilk
  • 1 (1 lb) box powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup walnuts

Directions:

  1. In 3 quart pan put 2 sticks oleo, 4 T.
  2. Cocoa and 1 cup water.
  3. Bring to a rapid boil.
  4. Remove from heat and add 2 cups sugar, 2 cups flour, 1 t.
  5. Soda, 2 t.
  6. Cinnamon.
  7. Mix well then add 1/2 cup buttermilk, 2 eggs, and 1 t.
  8. Vanilla.
  9. Bake in jelly roll pan 15 x 16 1/2 x 1 for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees.
  10. Do not make until cake is cool.
  11. Use same pan- bring to a boil 1 stick oleo, 4 T.
  12. Cocoa, 6 T.
  13. Buttermilk.
  14. Remove from heat and add 1# box powered sugar, 1 t.
  15. Vanilla, 1 t.
  16. Cinnamon, and 1 cup walnuts.
  17. Spread on cake.
