Chinese Spare Ribs

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lb spareribs
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 tsp 5- spice powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp sherry ( or whiskey)
  • 1 tsp red food coloring

Directions:

  1. Place spareribs into large pan.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over spareribs and marinate overnight, turning once.
  3. Put spareriabs in roasting pan and bake in oven at 325F for 30 minutes.
  4. Turn spareriabs, baste with remaining marinade.
  5. Continue baking for 30 more minutes.
  6. Special Notes: Some Chinese cooks will use a whiskey instead of Sherry.
