  1. Preheat oven to 350degrees. Grease 3 cookie sheets.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the shortening and sugar until light. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then stir in the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, milk, and vanilla extract.
  3. Finally, stir in the oatmeal and raisins. Drop rounded spoonfuls of mixture onto the prepared cookie sheets.
  4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool for 5 mnutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Store in an airtight container.
