Buttermilk Cornbread

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

Directions:

  1. Melt butter in cast iron skillet.
  2. Combine all dry ingredients.
  3. Beat in egg and buttermilk.
  4. Fold in melted butter from skillet.
  5. Pour into skillet and bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.
