Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven go 400 degrees
  2. Mix together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and soda in a medium bowl.
  3. Slice cold butter into cubes and use a pastry knife to cut butter into dry mixture until no large chunks of butter remain.
  4. Add buttermilk and milk and stir until a dough forms.
  5. Roll out on floured surface - desired thickness
  6. Cut biscuits using a floured biscuit cutter (I just use a large mouth drinking glass).
  7. Arrange on lightly greased baking sheet
  8. Bake 22 to 24 minutes or until golden brown
  9. Remove biscuits from oven - coll a couple of minutes, then brush with melted butter.
