Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or use regular milk and add a splash of vinegar)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425.
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
  3. Cut butter into flour until coarse crumbs form.
  4. Add buttermilk and toss until dough forms.
  5. Turn onto lightly floured surface and gather into a disk.
  6. Knead lightly a few times just until smooth. Pat into 3/4 thick and cut with biscuit cutter.
  7. Place biscuits 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden.
