Braided Banana Date Nut Bread (ABM)

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 3 tbsp water (80o)
  • 1/2 cup mashed banana
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp allspice

Directions:

  1. Place all bread ingredients in bread machine pan in order as suggested by your manufacturer.
  2. Select dough cycle.
  3. When cycle is complete, remove dough to floured surface.
  4. If necessary, add extra flour and knead to make dough easier to handle.
  5. Divide dough into 3 equal pieces and roll each piece into a 15 rope.
  6. Braid the 3 ropes together, pinching ends to seal.
  7. Place on greased baking sheet, cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  8. Combine topping ingredients in a small bowl and sprinkle on bread.
  9. Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes or until done.
  10. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
