Ingredients:

  • wanted . . . time

  • time to have my close friends in
  • time to read the book of verse
  • my sister sent to me.
  • time to sort my linens out
  • and stack them in neat rows
  • time to look my scrapbook o'er
  • and work with rhyme and prose.
  • time to bake some muffins
  • for the boy who mows our lawn
  • time to listen to the lark
  • at morning's early dawn.
  • for a neighbor living near
  • time to plan the garden
  • i have wanted for a year.
  • time to breakfast leisurely
  • and scan the paper through . . .
  • time, just to do the things
  • i really want to do.
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Sift the dry ingredients.
  2. Add the beaten egg, milk, vanilla and melted butter.
  3. Add 3/4 cup blueberries.
  4. Spoon into buttered muffin pans and bake for 25 minutes at 400 degrees.
