Bistro Blend Rice Medley (Mix)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup long grain brown rice
  • 1 cup unhulled short grain red rice

Directions:

  1. Combine ingredients in a bowl and transfer to an airtight container.
  2. To prepare: Place 2 cups of filtered water and 1 cup of the rice/grain mix in a saucepan. (Note: stock or broth can replace the water, depending on your menu.).
  3. Bring water to boil, reduce heat and simmer 50 minutes.
  4. Once rice is cooked, remove pot from the burner and set aside, covered for 15 minutes.
  5. If desired, season with salt and pepper. If you want to stir in a little bit of extra virgin olive oil to the rice, be my guest.
