Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 8 3/4- oz can (1 cup) pineapple tidbits
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 1- lb can (2 cups) sliced beets, drained

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt in saucepan.
  2. Stir in pineapple (with syrup).
  3. Cook, stirring constantly, till mixture thickens and bubbles.
  4. Add butter, lemon juice, and beets.
  5. Cook over medium heat about 5 minutes or till hot.
  6. Serves 4.
