Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a large pot, fry bacon until crisp.
  2. Remove bacon.
  3. Pour off most bacon dripping but RESERVE about 1 tbsp of the bacon drippings in the pot.
  4. Saute and cook garlic, onion, carrots and celery in hot bacon drippings.
  5. Add beans, chicken broth, parsley, pepper and cumin to vegetables.
  6. Heat until simmering.
  7. Crumble bacon and add to soup.
  8. Reduce heat and gently simmer, stirring often for about 15 minutes.
  9. Serve.
