Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Pour the water into a medium sized saucepan
  2. Add the rotten Banana & mush it into the water.
  3. Add the Cinnamon (& the Nutmeg if you like Nutmeg)
  4. Add the Maple Syrup or Honey and stir.
  5. Add the Raisins so they soak up the flavors of the Banana, Cinnamon & Maple Syrup.
  6. When the water mixture comes to a boil, add the Oatmeal flakes and stir.
  7. You can put a iid on if you want or not. It doesn't seem to affect the final product.
  8. I cook it for 8 to 10 minutes even if it's 5 minute Oatmeal, this allows the Oatmeal to retain all flavors.
  9. My guess is that it takes the Rolled Oats longer to absorb the liquid since it is more than water.
  10. Taste it before you put it into your bowl to make sure that it's done to your liking.
  11. ****When making this for more then yourself, add at least 2/3rds Banana/ person & increase every other ingredient as listed above.
  12. *************JUST FOR FUN***********************
  13. If you want to do this with Steel Milled Oats, I find that it's easier to cook the oatmeal first (For the 45 minutes to an hour).
  14. In another pan put 1/4 Cup of water, 2/3rds of a Rotten Banana/ person & then multiply the ingredients above/ person.
  15. For example: For 5 People use; 3 1/2 to 4 Rotten Bananas
  16. 1 1/4 Cups of Raisins
  17. 6 to 8 Tablespoons Maple Syrup (Or Honey)
  18. 1 1/4 Tablespoons Cinnamon
  19. 1/4 Teaspoons Nutmeg (Optional)
  20. Stir these ingredients together in the separate pan, over medium heat until the raisins plump.
  21. If you're making this for an adult Brunch, you can add a little Myers Rum to taste. (Yummy, a little Myers in my tummy).
  22. Then either stir these ingredients into the cooked Steel Oats or place this mixture on the table, allowing your guests to add their own.
  23. If you serve it the latter way, then you may want to put some Berries, Butter, Honey & Brown Sugar on the table as well.
  24. Or, if you really want to get snazzy, soak the Raisins in Myers Rum overnight. You can serve the Oatmeal with Heated Orange Juice, Myers Rum & a Cinnamon stick.
  25. You can even put the raisins into the heated Orange Rum.
