Ingredients:

  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup dark molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  2. Heat milk in a saucepan and when it come to a boil gradually stir in the cornmeal,using a wire whisk.
  3. Cook,stirring constantly,until slightly thickened.
  4. Stir in molasses.
  5. Beat egg in a large mixing bowl and add sugar,butter,ginger,cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
  6. Pour in the hot mixture,stirring rapidly.
  7. When Thoroughly blended,pour mixture into a greased baking dish.
  8. Bake 1 hour or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
