Baked Garlic with Blue Cheese and Rosemary

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Cut 1/2 inch off top end (opposite root end) of each garlic head, exposing top garlic cloves.
  3. Remove any loose papery outer skin.
  4. Place garlic cut side up in nonaluminum baking dish.
  5. Top with butter.
  6. Pour oil over.
  7. Add 1 can broth and white wine to dish.
  8. Sprinkle chopped rosemary over garlic.
  9. Place 2 rosemary sprigs in dish.
  10. Season with pepper.
  11. (Can be made 8 hours ahead. Cover; chill).
  12. Bake uncovered until garlic is tender, basting every 15 minutes with pan juices and adding more broth if necessary to maintain some sauce in dish, about 1 hr 15 minutes.
  13. Add cheese to dish and continue baking until cheese is almost melted, about 10 minutes.
  14. Discard rosemary sprigs.
  15. Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs.
  16. Serve with bread.
