Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add egg.
  3. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in another bowl.
  4. Gradually add to shortening mixture.
  5. Stir in apples and raisins.
  6. Spread batter into a 9x13 baking pan lined with parchment paper (if not using parchment paper, use a greased 9x13 pan).
  7. Combine brown sugar, pecans, cinnamon and vanilla; sprinkle over batter.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool before cutting into squares.
