Apple Pear Cobbler With Caramel Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 12 1/2 oz caramel syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Peel and core the apples and pears.
  3. Place apples and pears into a sauce pan add 1/2 cup sugar, stick of butter and 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 cup water.
  4. Saute for 5 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, 1 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup buttermilk.
  6. Pour over fruit and sprinkle with nutmeg.
  7. To make the caramel sauce, combine the jar of caramel syrup, brown sugar, water and butter in a saucepan and heat.
  8. Serve the cobbler with vanilla ice cream and pour the caramel overall and serve warm.
