Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, Grease and flour 8 x8 baking dish.
  2. Melt 1/2 cup butter in a 2 1/2 quart saucepan.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the brown sugar.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time Add the vanilla extract.
  5. Stir in the whole wheat flour.
  6. Sift in the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and 1 1/2 Tsps.
  7. Cinnamon.
  8. Stir together.
  9. Peel, core, and dice the apple.
  10. Add to the batter with the raisins and stir to combine.
  11. Pour into the baking dish.
  12. Mix together the remaining 2 Tbls.
  13. Cinnamon and the 1/2 cup sugar.
  14. Sprinkle over the top of the batter.
  15. Melt the remaining 2 Tbls.
  16. Butter and drizzle over sugar and cinnamon.
  17. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
  18. Remove and cool in the pan on a wire rack.
  19. When cool, slice into squares.
