Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Sift together dry ingredients then add egg, milk and melted shortening and mix together quickly.
  2. Put spoonful of batter in muffin pan.
  3. Place 1 tablespoon applesauce on top of mixture in muffin pan.
  4. Cover with another spoonful of batter.
  5. Sprinkle top with chopped bacon then bake 25 minutes at 400.
