Amish Green Tomatoe Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Prepare crust for a 9 in. double crust pie
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  3. Filling:
  4. Put in bowl, 3 cups green tomatoes sliced thin, cover with boiling water, let set 10 min.
  5. Drain, put in pie shell.
  6. Add brown sugar, molasses,water,flour,cinnamon and nutmeg
  7. Cover with top crust
  8. Bake at 350 degrees, 45 min. to an hour
