Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tsp water
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chip

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350*.
  2. Melt the 3 T butter in a 9 inch round cake pan.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar and water.
  4. Sprinkle with coconut and pecans.
  5. Set aside.
  6. In mixing bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa, brown sugar, and baking powder.
  7. Add milk, butter, eggs and vanilla.
  8. Beat on med for 1-1/2 minutes.
  9. Spread batter into prepared pan.
  10. Bake for 45 minutes or until cake tests done.
  11. Cool on wire rack for 5 minutes.
  12. Loosen the sides and invert onto cake plate.
  13. Sprinkle with chocolate chips while still warm.
