Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Stir together flour,baking powder,ginger,soda,and salt.
  2. In large bowl,beat eggs till thick and lemon colored.
  3. Beat in sugar,sour cream,molasses,and 1/4 cup cooking oil.
  4. Stir in dry ingredients(just till moistened)
  5. Roll out on lightly floured surface to a 9 square about 3/4 thick.
  6. Cut into nine strips of 1 wide.
  7. Cut each strip in half crosswise.
  8. Shape strips of dough into 12 ropes.
  9. Fold in half.
  10. Twist several times.
  11. Pinch to secure ends.
  12. Fry in deep hot oil for about 2 to 3 minutes or till done.
  13. Drain on paper towels that have been placed over brown paper sacks.
  14. Dip Warm Doughnuts in lemon glaze.
  15. Lemon Glaze:
  16. Combine 2 Cups sifted powdered sugar,2 tablespoons milk,1 teaspoon grated fresh lemon peel(no white,please),and 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice.Stir till smooth.
  17. Makes about 18 Twisted Doughnuts
