Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Sift together the flour, baking powder & salt.
  2. In bowl beat together butter, egg & almond & vanilla extracts.
  3. Beat in flour mixture.
  4. Cover & refrigerate for 30 mins.
  5. Working with 1/4 of the dough at a time ( keeping the rest in the fridge). roll heaping teaspoonful into finger shape, placing onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
  6. Press an almond firmly into end of each to make a nail.
  7. Press center to create knuckle shape & then make slashes across to form the knuckle.
  8. Bake in 325 degree oven for about 20 - 25 mins or until pale gold.
  9. Let cool for 3 mins on cookie sheet.
  10. Lift up almond on each & squeeze decorator gel onto nail bed & press almond back in place so the red gel oozes out around the nail.
  11. Remove onto wire racks to cool completely. Repeat with rest of dough.
  12. Makes about 60 cookies.
  13. After Halloween make them plain for a buttery sweet cookie for everyone.
  14. Prep-time includes refrigeration time.
