Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Butter a 9 square pan.
  2. Melt the butter in two-quart saucepan.
  3. Stir in the sugar gradually.
  4. Add the syrup and water; cook over moderate heat, stirring occasionally to 290°F on a candy thermometer or until a little of mixture becomes very brittle in cold water.
  5. Add 1 cup nuts.
  6. Cook 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  7. Pour in buttered pan.
  8. When cold, remove from pan.
  9. Coat 1 side of toffee with the melted chocolate and then sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
  10. Flip out on to waxed paper.
  11. Break into bite size pieces by dropping on hard surface.
