Ingredients:

  • whatever bread you have, hopefully it's not the cotton-ball like stuff, but more like multi-grain, rye, pumpernickel, any kind of russian or ukrainian bread from specialty store, or good 'ole sourdough - 2 slices per portion
  • deli meats - ham , roast anything , pastrami , salami , bologna - whatever's left - 2-3 slices per portion
  • cheese - anything goes - 2 slices per portion or 2 tbsp of cream cheese.
  • eggs - 1 egg per portion
  • butter - just to make it sweeter
  • helpers - 1 medium size cup or glass for cutting

Directions:

  1. Heat the oven to 350F.
  2. Foil the baking sheet and butter it lightly
  3. For each portion of breakfast do the following:
  4. Using the cup or glass, punch a round hole in one bread slice - right in the middle.
  5. Spread butter on both slices, and pile your favorite cheese and meats on the uncut slice.
  6. Cover with the cut slice (not the round, but the frame ). Press down lightly.
  7. Crack the egg and pour it carefully in the middle of the frame . Sprinkle some salt and black pepper over the egg.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until egg reaches your favorite firmness and cheese melts.
  9. You can butter and bake the cutout circles as well and serve them as side dish . I'd put a slice of tomato over those circles, if I were you.
