Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 cup. white sugar
  • 1/4 lb. butter or 1 stick
  • 3 heaping tbsps. flour
  • cook filling to warm and sugar dissolves, cool, and mix
  • 1 cup. whole milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla added to above , never let filling boil
  • put in uncooked pie shell

Directions:

  1. Beat the three egg whites into meringue and spread on cooked pie, bake meringue at 350 for 5 minutes and reduce heat to 300 and finish browning meringue.
