Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Beat margarine and sugar together until fluffy; add vanilla and egg and beat well.
  3. Stir in flour and baking powder.
  4. Roll into balls and press thumb into the middle of the cookie, fill with half a tsp or so of jelly.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
