Stuffed French Toast With Strawberry Grand Marnier

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Cut French bread into 8-10 1-inch thick slices.
  2. Make a slit in the crust of each slice.
  3. Combine cinnamon, nutmeg, cream cheese and sugar.
  4. Spoon cream cheese mixture into slits of bread.
  5. Whisk eggs and half-and-half together.
  6. Dip each slice of bread into egg mixture and place in well-greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  7. Pour remaining egg mixture over all and soak overnight.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees 35 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  9. Serve with Strawberry Grand Marnier Sauce.
  10. Strawberry Grand Marnier Sauce:.
  11. 1/3 cup butter - melted.
  12. 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar.
  13. 1 tablespoons corn starch.
  14. 3 tablespoons Grand Marnier (Orange juice may be substituted).
  15. 2 Cups Strawberries - sliced.
  16. Melt butter in skillet; slowly add powdered sugar, cornstarch and Grand Marnier and allow mixture to thicken over low heat.
  17. Add strawberries at last minute.
  18. Spoon small amount of mixture over each piece of French toast.
