Steak With Oven Baked Potato

Ingredients:

  1. Take out the sirloin steaks 1 hour before cooking. Rub with garlic. Turn in a few drops of oil. Season with black pepper ! not salt it toughens the meat !
  2. Make your oven baked potatoes (see Note below).
  3. Get your griddle or frying pan really hot. Slap the steaks down. Timing depends on the heat of pan and thickness of meat, but as a guide:.
  4. Rare : 1-2 minutes per side and red inside.
  5. Medium rare: 2-3 minutes per side and pink inside.
  6. Well done:3-4 minutes per side- browned through.
  7. When cooked to taste, sprinkle on salt and leave steak to relax for 2-3 minutes in a warm place; leave whole.
  8. Chuck the meat juice into pan to bubble up with a bit of red wine, when reduced drizzle over meat
  9. Arrange the steaks on a plate and put the baked potato on the side

  11. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees
  12. Scrub or wash the potatoes well, prick 3 or 4 times with a fork and stick them into oven for 1 hour.
  13. When cool enough to handle slice each potato in half, spoon the potato flesh into a bowl and add grated cheese, butter, salt and black pepper.
  14. Mash really well with a fork. Pile mix back into skins and place them back on baking tray and bake for 10-15 minutes.
