Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Cook spinach according to directions.
  2. Drain and keep liquid.
  3. Melt butter in saucepan over low heat.
  4. Add onion and garlic and cook until soft but not brown.
  5. Add flour, stirring while blending.
  6. Add 1/2 cup reserved spinach liquid and evaporated milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  7. Cook until smooth and thick.
  8. Continue stirring.
  9. Add pepper, celery salt and cheese.
  10. Stir some more till melted.
  11. Combine with cooked spinach.
  12. Top with buttered bread crumbs if desired.
